One of my favorite expressions is “Look what the Lord has done!” Why? As a singer/songwriter performing on college campuses and supper clubs across the country, I discovered my calling and the purpose for my music. I used to sit on a stool and sing The Way We Were. Today, these gifts and talents are one of the vehicles I use to give God glory!” The privilege of ushering in the presence of God through The Holy Spirit by worshipping Jesus Christ singing songs, hymns and spiritual songs is indescribable!
I'm reminded of the story of Eric Liddell. Liddell was the winner of the Men's 400 meters at the 1924 Summer Olympics held in Paris , France. He was portrayed in the film Chariots of Fire . Liddell said, “God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.” I can only concur with Liddell. Indeed, God made me for a purpose. But He also gave me natural musical abilities. And when I worship Him in song, I feel His pleasure.
On another note, I'm working on a new CD of favorite hymns. Stay tuned!
